For reasons I don’t want to go into here, my husband and I found out early in 2013 that we would have to take over the raising of our oldest grandson. There was no choice except to let him go into foster care. And with the shortage of foster homes in our area, we were assured he would probably end up in a group home.
We couldn’t let that happen. We got an attorney, who filed an emergency Order of Guardianship and we took him home with us. We were still in shock as to the reasons we needed to…
I haven’t been submitting anything to publications on Medium. I have been published in the past by a couple of publications, but those stories didn’t do any better than the ones I just published myself.
I recently got a private note from a publication inviting me to submit to them. But I didn’t. And I didn’t answer the private note, not because I’m a shit-tater, but because I don’t know how to do private notes. Oops, I guess I better quit reading, responding, and writing all the time and look up how to do that task. I will, I will…
In the dewy sunny mornings of summer, I often think of the idyllic time spent at my grandmother and grandfather’s house. They lived in a small town about 30 miles up the road from where we lived. I called them Mamaw and Papaw. At least I didn’t call them Big Momma, and Big Daddy like some area kids called their grandparents. Still, you know you are a rural southern kid when you call your grandparents Mamaw and Papaw.
In the summertime, my little sister and I would go for a week or two at a time to their house. I would…
I’m like the amazing Hulk. Do ya’ll remember him?
He was this regular dude, but make him mad, and he turned into a huge green mean monster who would happily thrash the daylights out of whatever or whoever made him angry.
I have a green mean bitch side and I never know when it’s going to activate. (I know, I know, mental illness is like that).
But seriously. I’ll just be walking along, or sitting in the car, or even sitting here at my writing desk, and all of a sudden, BOOM, I’m superbitch.
Everything and everyone irritate me. The…
First off, the four women called The Squad in the US House of Representatives aren’t helping anything. They and the rest of congress need to stop setting fires and get to work on the peoples’ business instead of fighting amongst themselves. What is wrong with them? And the Republicans trying to get them censured are even more misguided and working on getting back at the democrats instead of doing their jobs.
If the democrats spent more time trying to get the president support for his initiatives and less time throwing off sparks while living in a powder keg, we’d all…
Fact: a thing that is known or proved to be true.
What is truth?
Is it different for everyone?
No, truth is reality
The same always
Once we discover it
Or already know the truth of it
Arrived at by consideration of the facts
Or learned at great trials
To benefit all
Or, just generally known facts
Like grass is green
Sky is blue
We rotate around the sun
The earth is round
There are facts that were not
Always known as facts
But as we grow
We learn and accept
More facts and more truth
And turn from our…
I’m interviewing a couple who support Trump in hopes we can focus on seeing both sides of the issues and try to understand why there is still so much support for Trump. The Republican side of the legislature is apparently still being controlled by Trump, and many Trump supporters think the election was stolen from Trump and he will eventually be reinstated as president. They believe he will rise to power again. So I thought it would be interesting to hear their views.
So, I’m here with Mr. and Mrs. Putz, who have agreed to be interviewed on the record…
Donald Trump could end up unwanted as a supporter by candidates seeking election in 2022. There arguably was not much of a boost for local republican politicians because of his speech in Greenville, N.C., during the state’s annual Repubican Convention.
As reported by The Washington Post, USA Today, CNN, Politico and others, Trump’s remarks were met with mixed results, but it was plain the crowd didn’t seem particularly interested in revisiting 2020 in contrast with Trump’s seeming inability to shut up about it.
There were also reports that some of Trump’s supporters and most importantly, donors, were not impressed with…
I was happy as a lark and inspired to write more and write better because I received the $500 bonus at the end of April.
And I’m grateful to have just received another bonus for May.
However, the latter is ten percent of the first. Yep, I got a wonderful, unexpected, and generous $500 bonus at the end of April. And I got another wonderful, unexpected, and generous bonus of $50 at the end of May.
I worked harder in May. Much harder. …
