Don’t Think He Can’t Win Again This Year
That would be our biggest mistake
Are Democrats going to make the same mistakes again? If they do, it will be end of the USA as we know it. The country we believed would always be a free republic will truly be history.
We must understand what the GOP already knows — that the only way Trump is going to get re-elected is to paint those who disagree with him as heathen, unpatriotic, violent, looting, baby killing monsters who don’t even love Jesus. Not supporting him is tantamount to being an evil person in his lexicon.
That is the truth. I can’t count the times my loyalty, morality or Christianity has been brought into question because I do not and will not support Trump.
To win Trump must focus on the farthest left of the left wing of the Democratic party. The moderates won’t incite and inflame the right wing sufficiently. Only the far left. So he will concentrate on our admittedly far-out left flank and focus his criticism there.
So let’s all go along with the far left just to piss him and his supporters off, right? No! Wrong. The farther left the Democratic Party goes, the more ammunition Trump’s band of outlaws have to use against us.
Why aren’t we talking about social security?
Why aren’t we talking about social security and what Trump wants to do with it? Why aren’t we focusing on the thievery of the Republicans when they gave all that public money to the richest and biggest corporation? Why aren’t we looking more closely into what happened with the SBA loans? Why aren’t we yelling louder about emolements.
If we just stand aside and let Trump continue to paint all violent protestors as part of the Democratic Party — and even paint the party as being behind and promoting the unrest in so many cities — we are going to lose. It is that simple.
Do not be mistaken. Trump’s true supporters want the streets mopped up with the blood of protestors. They hate them. They want them punished. They want them stopped. If Trump turns the military loose on them, his supporters will cheer.
Some people do not have better instincts
We keep trying to appeal to people’s better instincts and it is not working. We must face the fact that some people, including a lot of Trump’s people, do not have better instincts.
People who think of themselves as patriotic and Christian Americans are not watching politics and reading the Washington Post and others every day like political writers and strategists. They don’t care about politics as a whole. Ask them. They will tell you they don’t care about politics. Somehow, they’ve missed all the dirty deeds Trump has committed. What they know about Trump, is “he’s against these lefties trying to defund our police protection,” and “he gave me a stimulus check.” They’ll tell you to look at the stock market, and even though high stock prices aren’t doing them one bit of good, they don’t understand that and don’t want to be bothered with it. Where did we get the idea Americans are progressive and well-read? Where do we get the idea America is educated. It is not. Not compared to other countries and not by our own standards. American kids are graduating from high school unable to read and write for crying out loud.
They know Trump talks big and tough like John Wayne, insults intelligence and education and says the “forbidden” things they want to say but don’t because they see themselves as “nice” people. I’m not kidding. They are going to the polls — and they aren’t afraid of Covid, remember? — and they may re-elect the arguably worst man to ever serve as U. S. president. They will take their prejudice to the polls. Hillary missed it, and we’re about to miss it again.
We ask how they can do that? How can they vote for a man who could be classified as a monster and one of the true villains of history and Democracy? A man who is anything but a Christian or an upholder of Christianity or even decent in word and deed.
They don’t read anything except…
I’ll tell you how they do it. They only hear a little. They don’t read anything except pro-Republican junk and they don’t watch anything except Fox News…and they don’t even do either of those things very much. They’re watching the ballgames that are back on now, they’re watching QVC, and probably watching “the stories” and wrestling. They do not care “about politics” they tell us repeatedly and we refuse to hear it and keep trying to covert them through politics.
They believe “all politicians are the same and they all steal.” They discount anything they may happen to hear about Trump enriching himself off the public dollar as “just politics,” and continue to say, “aw, they’re all crooked,” as if that excuses Trump.
Here’s what Democratic strategists better get in their heads. The people of this country, as a big dumb majority, like how Trump talks. He makes fun of what they perceive to be “big shots” or people “too big for their britches.” He treats a college degree like a case of measles that renders one stupid. He makes fun of science. He makes fun of intelligence in government. He is their hero. He is portraying himself as a strongman and they want one at the helm. He’s talking like he could be at home at their dinner tables.
Then he blusters and yells and talks tough, and indeed, has shown that he is willing “to send in the troops” to shut up the Black Lives Matter movement, and his supporters like it. He mistreats immigrants, and they like it. We need to wake up and realize just how much trouble we are in. The majority of people in this country are not liberals willing to share whatever we have with foreign masses. They just are not.
Biden…trying to please everyone.
Biden, who even a lot of Democrats don’t fully or enthusiastically support, is milk toast. He’s trying to please everyone and is being too slow to address what the run-of-the-mill voter doesn’t like about Democrats. He did, to his credit, come out against defunding the police. But anyone would. It was a silly idea. We need police in this country. We just don’t need them acting like an army of occupation. Biden’s people have to get him in a position to bluster about mainstream American values, too, and not just the desires of the left.
Trump will continue to rail against the far left democrats, whose views are not even supported by the majority of moderate, mainstream Democrats. And the Democrats will continue to push forward their far left agendas. We can’t get it that people don’t want other people to get for free what they worked their whole lives to get. Momma and daddy don’t want to see the college education they worked their hearts out to get for their kids given to a white, black, or brown kid whose parents don’t work at all. Sorry Democrats, but it is the truth. If we don’t learn to read the people better, we will not get back the presidency or the senate seats we need.
He will stir them up.
Trump, even while treating the Constitution and the laws of this nation like toilet paper, will continue to yell loud and clear that Democrats are the villains — the ones who are unholy, and support unholy causes and people. His supporters will continue to cheer as he yells and rallies toward the most right wing in any crowd. He will stir them up…against the rest of us.
He is a populist, people. He will say whatever his supporters want to hear and as hard as it is to admit it, he’s pretty good at determining what they want to hear. It doesn’t matter if he can deliver what he says. What matters to his supporters is he is saying, loud and clear, what they themselves want to say but have been unable to without being politically inappropriate.
Trump is making them feel it’s ok to be a racist. Ok to be an enemy of protestors, ok to be against immigration, ok to build walls and separate babies from their mothers. He’s saying it is ok. And they love it.
Trump is stirring up the people in swing and other states — against the rest of us. If we are not white, we’re not to be considered “real” honest to goodness flag-waving Americans. If we support the right to abortion (baby killing they label it) we are evil and Trump will bring their fight to us. If we support women’s rights, we support upsetting the general order of things. They believe women are to be subservient, second class. Even many of the women believe it.
Trump will portray us as perverted.
If we believe people should be able to love and marry anyone they want, Trump will portray us as perverted. If we are peace promoters, we’re panty wastes, if we are atheists we are the epitome of evil and inferior to Christians, along with Muslims and other religions he sees as “unamerican”. He has no clue about the separation of church and state or why it should be. If we are educated, we are among the “over-educated fools” he loves to make fun of. He will attack wise words from people with knowledge — as he has proven repeatedly during the pandemic. He will fire qualified people from the administration if they dare disagree with any stupid thing he says.
People are buying Trump’s bullshit. I know. I live in the south. I know these people and they’re buying it. Like the Germans before us, they have no idea Trump wants to be and may well become our dictator, a tyrant who could be worse than Hitler. Trump would happily sponsor genocide if he could get away with it — and they don’t care. The people Trump would kill would be the ones the good-ole-boys would want gone. Ugly, but true. One of those inconvenient truths.
We have not advanced enough to recognize evil in a leader.
Trump may well win simply because we have not advanced enough as a country to recognize evil in a leader. We have failed to make the separatist, discriminatory, and inflammatory statements of Trump and his supporters unacceptable. We still allow people to run loose while stupid and display their stupidity on a regular basis — sometimes even with a mainstream press megaphone. We are a free country and proud of it. But being free means people can choose to be regressive, mean-spirited, uneducated, and as selfish as they please. Unfortunately, there is an unassailable right to be ignorant in the USA.
Unless we get smart about what Trump is doing and learn to push some “old-fashioned” values of our own that include family, love, faith, and the ‘good stuff’ people want to hear instead of just bitching about Trump, he’s likely going to beat us. He is. Really.
People love to hear what he says. They are going to support him. Most support him loudly, but I’m here to tell you, hundreds of thousands support him quietly, like my devout and reserved Christian friends and relatives who equate Democrats with evil. Trump has convinced them he is ruling by the laws of the Holy Bible and putting God’s law above man’s. Ugh, Trump won’t know God until he is standing in front of him.
One of the first signs of a dictator is the use of religion to justify persecution. Remember, Hitler was supposedly a Christian when he came to power.
A dangerous bubble.
We need to get our proverbial heads out of our proverbial butts and realize that just because we’re seeing a lot of anti-Trump sentiment on our websites and the platforms we frequent, does not mean he is done. We are in our own bubble. A dangerous bubble. Like the 2016 bubble. We only hear like minds.
The rank and file, normal, everyday Americans support Trump in significant numbers. There are not enough academics and learned professionals to beat him. We need the masses. We’re loud because we are mostly the ones doing the writing, putting the snappy sentences on Twitter, shaming people for supporting the wanna-be-almost-already dictator on Facebook and writing the essays on Medium.
Don’t say I didn’t tell you so. Democrat strategists, please listen. Unless Democrats up their game substantially in the next few months, we’re liable to have another four years of Trump. The nation can’t take it. I can’t take it.
