I feel your pain here. I was medicated for the wrong thing for most of my life and only a few years ago, when there's not a lot of time left, has my disease been diagnosed and I've been properly treated. It's like having a new life.

But I wish it could have happened when I was a young woman--or a weird kid trying desperately to fit in, to belong, to be part of the group.

That first therapist was an idiot. Hopefully, you know now that if what they say doesn't seem right to you, find another therapist.

Look out for yourself. Demand treatment. Get well. Best wishes to you and I hope you enjoy the adventure of finally finding out how life can be and how special you really are.
