Jefferson Had It Right; We Need to Instill Fear.

Vote Trump Out and All His Republican Cronies, too.

Thomas Jefferson, from Library of Congress

“When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.”… Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson knew what he was talking about when he said the government should fear the people and not the other way around.

If the government ever fears the people, it is here at election time. The only time our leaders ever fear us is when they are trying to get re-elected. It is in this period that the people have the upper hand over our government.

We better vote and make it stick. By voting in the most overwhelming numbers ever, we can hope to get our country back. It is our only hope to save our country.

In less than two months, the election will determine the future of the United States of America. If we don’t vote this time, we may not get an opportunity to vote the next time. So much damage has occurred in four years it’s hard to fathom what four more years of the Trump administration would bring down upon us.

Imagine four more years of Trump and his minions lying to us and ignoring our Constitution. It’s hard to imagine how bad that will be, but one thing is for sure, it won’t be more freedom or even a continuance of the liberty we have left. Expect a total breakdown of our government as we know it and the tyranny to follow.

The Trump administration’s outrages are like a dripping water faucet, continuous and annoying, if not maddening. Some of us have become deaf to the constant reports of Trump breaking one rule of law after another, lying more boldly each time, and bringing our nation dangerously close to a civil war. It goes on and on, and he never stops. The most terrifying thing is that people grow accustomed to the atrocities and, therefore, they continue unabated.

If one lists all the instances of the blows against the rule of law and this country’s Constitution by Trump, it would be a long one.

It started with putting families, and even their small children, in cages. It ends with Trump “playing down” the coronavirus and therefore causing the death of thousands. What other impending disasters will he lie about if he gets another term? We can’t afford another four years of Trump.

He will destroy us.

The people leading Trump’s administration are as evil as he is, and the Republican-led senate knew it when they voted not to convict him and therefore allowed him to stay in office. They could have gotten rid of the ship and the rats would have followed. But they didn’t. They wouldn’t. Even though the House dutifully impeached Trump, the senate would not convict him. They neglected their duty.

Now that it’s election time, we must remember not only the damage Trump has caused, But don’t forget the Republicans in the senate. They allowed the damage to continue by not doing their duty. Some of them are up for re-election. Most notably, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell faces a challenge from Amy McGrath. McConnell said before he even heard the evidence that Trump would not be convicted. It looks like he knew the outcome before anyone else, and it stinks that there was a predetermination not to convict Trump. There was ample evidence presented during his impeachment.

McConnell must be voted out of office so fast it will make his old turtle head spin. He is a crook and a crony, and he and his wife are riding high on the American people’s backs. He wants to take away our health insurance and our Social Security. Fine fellow, Mitch McConnell. Come on, Kentucky, vote him out and gain the respect and gratitude of the nation.

Donald Trump is a madman, and anyone who votes for him is disturbed in some way, too. He’s a psychopath and a narcissist who doesn’t care about anyone or anything but himself. He has no feelings of duty toward this country. He’d hand us over to Russia if he could. If he remains in office, he will destroy everything brave soldiers have fought for since the Revolutionary War. We must vote him out and enforce the vote if necessary.

The old would-be dictator sitting at our president’s desk blusters and postures, but it’s doubtful he has the courage or the stomach to refuse to surrender the presidency. He’s a pansy-assed coward who makes a big show of tough talk and has nothing to back it up. He’s never gotten the message about it being more useful to speak softly and carry a big stick, so he yells and hollers and waves his tiny hands.

We can’t get just Trump, though. We must vote out every Republican who has stood by and allowed Trump to do so much damage to our nation. All of them need to go home and take up knitting or something since none of them had the courage to do their duty and protect the country from a mentally ill, senile, old con man.

Republicans in the Senate and the House have contributed to the fall of the once-respected USA. And yes, we’ve fallen — from being the most respected country in the world to becoming a country other nations laugh at. They wonder what is wrong with Americans that we have allowed a comic-book villain like Trump to stay in our highest office and continue his mischief.

Indeed. What is wrong with Americans?

We have one chance to rectify our mistake and vote Trump out of office. We must. Then we will begin the gargantuan task of recovering from his ape-shit crazy term of office.

We owe it to ourselves to remove him by voting for Joe Biden. We owe it to our once proud and admired nation. We owe it to the world, and especially our allies. We owe it to our children and grandchildren, who will still need air to breathe long after we are gone.

Vote his ass out. That is all.
