The US is in Critical Condition

And no one is sounding the warning.

Yes, I’m afraid of the Trump administration. However, a large part of my fear comes from my observation that the national news media is NOT doing their job of living up to their position as the Fourth Estate. They haven’t noticed yet, or don’t care to comment, that our nation’s condition has red-lined on “critical.”

I watch national news on at least two channels every night, usually ABC or NBC. From watching them, one can assume that everything is nice and dandy.

They have some small, non-lead stories about something or other Trump or Elon has done. They are usually in the middle, right before the break, or in a spot we newspaper veterans would call “below the fold.” But from watching, one could assume all is well when the exact opposite is true.

No one is burning down anything.

We are in deep do-do, but the television news media doesn’t reflect it. Most newspapers, the ones left, don’t do much better. Ho hum, Trump is acting like a dictator or a king. A few people protested, but they didn’t cover that. The protests are orderly, and no one is violent or burning anything down, so there isn’t much interest.
